Flowers and Gears

This is without a doubt the most beautiful postcard I have ever seen of spring loaded, anti-backlash spur gears and flowers. I’m guessing it is from the 1940’s?

  1. Feels more like a late ’50’s, early 60’s vibe to me.

Whenever it’s from, it is a handsome (and fun) piece of design.

  2. I would guess more like 1960s. PIC’s Catalog #7 was copyrighted in 1955, and it would take a while to get to #21:

On the other hand, Benrus Watch Co. was going through an expansion phase in the early 1950s through the early 1960s, then hit trouble with competition from cheap quartz-movement watches and declared bankruptcy in 1977. So the card is for sure pre-1977, and I would guess that Benrus started shedding non-consumer subsidiaries before that; see
