I recently bought two nice scalpel handles. Both are made by the Italian company Bontempi, from stainless steel. My brother-in-law, a sales rep for dental instruments, tells me that Bontempi is top of the line, usually better made than Miltex. I find the one on top, with the round handle, MA-B1, very comfortable when used for scraping and intricate curved cuts. The MA-B3M is a standard scalpel handle shape, but has built in 6cm ruler, which is common for surgical and dental applications. I might not ever use the ruler, but it is cool to have! Both fit number “3” size blades.
